As a fellow parent and traveler... I commend you on a great blog post. One thing I wanted to add/address is what to do at the end of your day in Asheville, NC and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

A lot of folks assume that if you travel with your kids, you have to stay at some generic chain Asheville hotel because romantic bed and breakfasts don't allow kids. While this is true at some Asheville B&B's, especially those that are smaller, single-building homes where all of the rooms are off a single hallway, there are a number of Western NC Bed & Breakfast inns that not only allow, but welcome families traveling with their children.

Look for properties that have multiple buildings or rental cottages and cabins. Many of these properties will advertise themselves as kid friendly B&B's. Many NC Country Inns that have restaurants are also happy to provide kid friendly dining options, and some even have games, kid-friendly videos, and on-site activities to keep your kids entertained before bedtime.

If you are interested in the personalized, true Southern hospitality that only a family-owned Asheville Bed and Breakfast can provide, give your local Western NC Innkeeper a call.

Wonderful and useful information on Asheville. This is a place where there's something for everyone. I'm really loving those homemade blueberry pancakes, sounds wonderful! The Fun Depot is a one-stop entertainment center, cool! Thanks for sharing this ;)
