Erin Duggan, PR Director for the Sarasota CVB and Mom of a 19 month old little man, shares some fun outings for the kids in sunny Sarasota, FL.  Thanks Erin!

“I love all of the attractions that we have in the area!  I have so much fun doing these little ‘half day trips’ throughout the summer (and really weekends throughout the year) with my little guy.  I have friends that have kids of all ages – and they enjoy doing the same as well.

It is always fun to head to Mote Aquarium and see the fish, manatees and dolphins, and then grab an ‘old salty dog’ at The Old Salty Dog afterwards.  There is no better way to end a trip to Mote Aquarium than to walk across the street to this waterfront restaurant and have their specialty, a beer battered and deep fried hot dog!

Another fun half day trip is to go to Selby Gardens and let my son run around.  In this beautiful bayfront park – on top of there being a huge garden with paths meandering throughout – there is also a RainForest area with poison dart frogs.  Always fun to look at!  Throw in a trip to the Farmers Market before hand (in downtown Sarasota every Saturday morning, which is also where Selby Gardens is located) and you have a great way to spend the first half of your day.  Nap afterwards guaranteed!”
