Take your family on a ski vacation this winter in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada; home of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games! There are some great hotel deals going on, but you must book by Dec. 31st. Deals are for stays through Jan 31st, but you can use this list as a guide to finding a great hotel for the games as well (games are from Feb 12 – 28). A special treat to a family ski vacation before the Olympics is that you get a first glimpse of all the preparations being made for the events! (-and I did mention the DEALS, right?) The excitement is contagious!!!
The pedestrian only village of Whistler offers complimentary shuttle service to ski lifts for Blackcomb and Whistler mountains, and connects to public bus lines offering service to nearby communities (and the airport). The town has a good variety of restaurants, from fine dining to casual picnic fare. Many hotels offer suites that are set up like condos with full kitchens and laundry in the unit . A trip to the grocery store can save you a bit of cash for breakfast and lunch, then enjoy the restaurants for dinner. Laundry facilities can help dry out wet clothes in a hurry.
