Florida Family Beach Vacation; Englewood Beach
Englewood Beach is a perfect kid friendly paradise for your Florida family beach vacation. With its crystal clear emerald Gulf water, cool powder sand, an abundance of sunshine, and tons of fun for kids and adults, it’ll become one of your favorite places to get away from the hustle and bustle of the typical vacation.
Englewood beach is actually four beaches. These bright isles of sun, sand and surf are located on Manasota Key, a barrier island just off the mainland. These beaches include Englewood Beach, Stump Pass Beach, Manasota Beach and Blind Pass Beach.
An Englewood beach family vacation won’t cost you an arm and a leg either, so it’s a great place to visit if you’re into having a great time without breaking the bank. There are lots of free or low priced parking spots at all of the Florida beach locations in Englewood. There are also covered picnic areas, and free showers. Also see my Florida family vacations post on Charlotte Harbor; which has lots more about the area.

Manasota Beach;
Manasota Beach is located further up Manasota Key past Blind Pass Beach. This is another of the great area beaches that you can visit on your Florida family beach vacation in Englewood. Lots of sun and fun in the sand, and you might see a great blue heron too.
Blind Pass Beach
Blind Pass Beach is another treasure trove of beauty in the Englewood beach area located on Manasota Key approximately a mile and a half south of Manasota Key. Blind Pass is also known as “middle beach” and is perfect for a day at the beach, to play in the sand, or to walk about and explore, or even search for prehistoric sharks teeth (some over a million years old), and can be found especially after a storm washes them up from the Gulf. It stretches almost half a mile along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, and instead of condos and high-rises, you’ll see sand dunes, mangroves and wildflowers strewn across the landscape. There are even nature trails to hike through and discover the natural habitat of the local wildlife. The trails cover over 60 acres. There are also picnic tables, showers, restrooms and a parking lot for your convenience.
A great website to see more on each of these beaches:
