Midwest Combat Robotics Competition at Mall of America
I don’t know about you, but my 7-yr old son is obsessed with LEGOs. He has the LEGO robotics for his age group, so I want him to see what the big kids do with theirs. You will likely see us at this event!!
Guests are invited to watch as 15-pound robots battle head-to-head in the Midwest Combat Robotics Competition at Mall of America. Controlled by local and national teams of middle school, high school and college student creators, the robots combat one another for 3 minutes or until one robot is knocked out or taps out in an intense double elimination competition.
The local robotics team from North St. Paul High School and their robot UC3 will be joining the competition this weekend. The team went undefeated in the national competition in Indianapolis, IN earning them the title of NRL 2012 National Champion. This event is free and open to the public.
Operated and sponsored by Dunwoody College of Technology, the Midwest Robotics League is a hands-on technology program for middle school, high school, and college aged students. Students use their math, science and technology skills to design a robot and compete against other schools monthly.
