We love the Wild Rumpus bookstore so much!!  Everything about it welcomes kids in.  The purple door is a kid-sized door within the main entrance (black door) that really works!  There are tons of pets all around… free-roaming cats and several other critters in cages like chinchillas, ferrets, a skink, a tarantula, rats, and I’m sure I missed a few.

The books are plentiful and arranged in a very kid-centric way.  There is nothing big-box about this bookstore.  It is the quintessential independent children’s bookstore, and if you come to Minneapolis, please check it out!

Do you have a favorite independent children’s bookstore where you live?
