I have never been much of an adventure traveler, but reading about the adventures of Mike Unwin and his 9 year-old daughter in Costa Rica tempts me to give it a try.  If it’s safe enough for a 9 year old girl, it should be safe enough for a 44 year old girl, right?   My son would love the animal encounters!  He is a zoo and aquarium junkie.  To see and hear a howler monkey in the wild would make his day!  5am might be a little freaky, but, I’m sure you get used to it.   I love his recommendation of having a guide.  I imagine with that much wildlife, if you don’t know what you’re doing, things can get a bit hairy.  Yes, pun intended.
