Local mom Sara Lise Raff shares what she loves about Stuart’s Fruit Farm. The New York State Century Farm award winner is home to the sixth generation of Stuarts who work the 200+ acres of apple orchards, pumpkin patches, and vegetable crops.
We love apple picking at Stuarts Fruit Farm, in Westchester area, NY. It is a small and friendly farm. We used to go just as a family excursion, until we decided to have our daughter’s fall birthday party there. It is relatively inexpensive (compared to NYC prices) and our friends loved that they walked out with a goody bag of fresh apples and a pumpkin they picked together, rather than the usual bag of candy and useless chachkas!
Sara Lise Raff is a mother of 3 and answers parents’ questions weekly, on the blog asktheeducator.blogspot.com
