SPECIAL EVENTS

HALLOWEEN WEEKEND AT PROSPECT PARK!
HALLOWEEN HAUNTED WALK & CARNIVAL 
Date:  Saturday, October 31             
Cost: Free
Time: 12 – 4 p.m.
Location:  Nethermead/Lookout Hill
Details:  Deep in the Park lies Lookout Hill, home of the annual Prospect Park Haunted Walk. Take your chances with the ghouls and goblins lurking within the trees ready to scare you silly! Young children should be accompanied by an adult. There’s also a carnival on the Nethermead featuring all kinds of fun, games and treats. Rain or Shine. SATURDAY ONLY.  

HAUNTED CAROUSEL 
Date:  Saturday & Sunday,  October 31 –  November 1
Cost:   $1.50 per ride
Time:  12 – 5 p.m.
Location: Carousel, The Children’s Corner
Details:  It’s time for a spooky, scary, spin on the Haunted Carousel. Who knows what little creatures will accompany you on your ride. 

CREEPY CRAWLY HALLOWEEN
Date: Saturday & Sunday,  October 31 –  November 1
Cost:  Free
Time:  12 – 5 p.m.
Location:  Audubon Center
Details:  Take a second look at the creatures that give you the creeps, you may find you like them. Spiders and worms are just a few nature’s wonders that we would have a tough time without. Crafts, and experiments! 

SKELETON CUT-OUTS
Date:  Saturday & Sunday,  October 31 –  November 1
Cost:  Free
Time:  1 – 4  p.m.
Location:  Lefferts Historic House
Details: Make your own Halloween headbands using the traditional Scharen-Knippen paper-cutting art form.

SCARY STORIES FROM THE PAST 
Date:  Saturday & Sunday,  October 31 –  November 1
Cost:  Free
Time:  2 & 3 p.m.
Location:  Lefferts Historic House
Details:  Make sure you’re sitting next to someone braver than you! Form a circle and listen to master storyteller Tammy Hall keep the tradition of scary stories alive with “The Legend of Pope’s Lane,” “The Domine’s Ride,” and more.

SCIENCE POWER HOUR  
Date:  Every Saturday & Sunday
Time:  1:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Location:  Audubon Center at the Boathouse
Details:  Join a naturalist at the Audubon Center for cool science activities. A new experiment every month. Audubon Center.

NATURE CRAFTS
Date:  Every Saturday and Sunday
Time:  1 – 3 p.m.
Cost:   Free
Location:   Audubon Center at the Boathouse
Details:  Looking for something to do with the kids? Teachers/Naturalists at the Audubon Center are available each weekend, leading structured, fun, and engaging arts activities for children. Kids create toys, puppets, and more, using all-natural materials—and it doesn’t cost a thing!

EARLY AMERICAN CRAFTS & GAMES
Date:  Every Saturday and Sunday 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Cost:  Free                            
Location:  Lefferts Historic House at The Children’s Corner
Details:  Imagine yourself in the past. Learn games, pastimes and tasks that were common 150 years ago.

Directions:   Enter the Park at Lincoln Road & Ocean Ave. or Flatbush Ave. & Empire Blvd. (Willink entrance) and follow the directional signs.  By train: Q, S, or B to Prospect Park Station. By bus: B-16, B-41, B-43 and B-48 will bring you close to the Park’s Willink entrance.

ELECTRIC BOAT TOURS at The Boathouse
Regular Hours: OCTOBER Sat – Sun   12:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Holiday Openings: Sukkot, 12 -5 p.m.  Mon 10/5 – Wed 10/7; Columbus Day  12 – 5p.m.  Mon 10/12
Twenty minute tours start every half-hour beginning at 12:30 p.m. with the final ride at 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $8 for ages 13 and up; $4 for ages 4 – 12.Children under 3 ride free with an adult

Directions: The Children’s Corner is located inside the Park’s Willink entrance, at the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Empire Boulevard.  By train: Q, S, or B run to Prospect Park Station.  By bus: B-16, B-41, B-43 and B-48 will bring you close to The Children’s Corner.

CAROUSEL & PONY EXPRESS SNACK BAR

Cost:  $1.50 per ride (tax included); $8 book of 6 tickets.

PEDAL BOATS & SNACK BAR AT THE LAKE AT WOLLMAN RINK.
Directions: Parkside/Ocean Avenues entrance or the Lincoln Road/Ocean Avenue entrance. Wollman Rink is best accessed through the Parkside/Ocean Avenues entrance or the Lincoln Road/Ocean Avenue entrance.  By train: Q, S, or B run to Prospect Park Station.  By bus: B-41, B-43 and B-46
