2011 Minnesota Ski & Snowboard Expo
at Mall of America® helps kick-off the winter sport season
Winter is around the corner, which means it’s time for hard-core Minnesotans who love winter sports to dust off their sporting gear. To kick off the winter sport season, the 2011 Minnesota Ski & Snowboard Expo will be held at Mall of America® Friday, Oct. 21 through Sunday, Oct. 23. All attendees will receive a $10 gift card to Liftopia.com and will be able to check out the latest and greatest in ski and snowboard equipment, apparel and accessories from local retailers. Those who attend will also have the advantage of getting the best deals on tickets, lesson programs, season passes and vacations to local, regional and western ski areas.
New this year to the event is an indoor ski slope in Sears Court, presented by Skijammers Ski & Snowboard School and Hyland Ski Area. Kids are invited to learn basic skiing skills that they can test out on the indoor slope covered with a synthetic sliding surface, allowing children to experience the sensations of skiing. Another interactive area for guests is the Gibbon Slackline in the Rotunda where guests can watch performers do tricks and also try their balance and coordination on the inch-wide slackline.
The expo will also feature Skyriders trampoline shows, giveaways every hour for lift tickets, equipment and more and screenings of more than a dozen Warren Miller film classics in the fourth floor exhibit space.
