Gatlinburg is a resort town that has become host to thousands of visitors every day. Its wide range of activities combined with the easy access to the Smoky Mountains National Park has turned this little town into a worldwide famous destination.  From travelling couples to large families, there is something of interest for everybody. Children are especially guaranteed to leave Gatlinburg with a smile on their face and stories for years to come.

The Smoky Mountains National Park is home to some of the most picturesque swimming holes in the United States. This fantastic outdoor activity is something everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.  The Townsend Y Swimming Area is one of the many swimming holes in the National Park. It is also one of the easiest to access.  This outdoor swimming experience provides ample space for playing and a great green area for picnics and sunbathing. This pool is located at the junction of the Little River and its middle prong. It is easily found by driving North on highway 441 to Wears Valley Road, from there, turn left and follow this road until you get to TN-73, turn left again and drive until you reach come to the intersection of Little River and Laurel Creek Road.

Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country Park are two fantastic amusement parks. Children and adults alike love these parks that are co-owned by country singing sensation Dolly Parton.  Dollywood is a large scale outdoor amusement park. Each of its themed zones has their own unique set of attractions. From relaxing rides to wild roller coasters, there is a ride for every age and thrill level.  Dollywood’s Splash Country Park is a themed water park.  Kids love the relaxing tube rides.  The older thrill seeking children can test their bravery on the Mountain Scream slides.  Mountain Scream is home to several fast moving, heart stopping water slides that will plummet you hundreds of feet in seconds.  For guests that have the time for both parks, save money by purchasing a two-day combination pass. For more information about these parks, contact Dollywood At 1-800-DOLLYWOOD or visit them at 2700 Dollywood Parks Boulevard, Pigeon Forge TN 37863

With the intricate detail of each different course in and around town, there is enough mini golfing available to keep your family busy all day without having to visit the same course twice. Hillbilly Golf Course can be contacted at 865-436-7470 or by going directly to the course which is located at 340 Parkway Gatlinburg, TN 37738.
